Welcome to the Halfway Inn

At the Halfway Inn, we have real ales, real cider, bed and breakfast and great food.

Situated on Sidmouth Road (A3052) between Sidmouth and Exeter in East Devon, on a crossroads between Ottery St Mary and Woodbury.

We have been awarded the "Cask Marque Cellar Cool" award for the continuous quality of our cask conditioned ales.

Amongst all this we also specialise in gluten/ wheat and dairy free. A full seperate menu is available at all times.

A beautiful, traditional olde English coaching inn. Set in the heart of the Devonshire countryside on the jurassic coast.

Featuring fine real ales, real cider, a variety of wines and excellent food including a full gluten free menu.

We specialise in gluten free and can cater for other dietary specialties on request.

Our specials board changes daily, combined with our menu there is choices garenteed to satisfy your pallet.

We have a games corner in the bar with a selecton of traditional pub games including:-

Darts, Cribbage, Dominoes, Backgamon, Connect Four and Decks of Cards are always available.

We also have a 42" LCD television in the bar with a digital adapter for the sport.

We are currently unsure of why the pub was named the "Halfway Inn" originally known as "Halfway House"... We are undergoing research at the moment, including previous owners and tennents etc.

We currently know that the pub was built around 1840 and the first licenced victualler was "William Foster" of Aylesbeare.

We have discovered that previous thoughts of us being a halfway stop on the old London to Penzance coaching road are now false.

Unfortunately we do not allow any dogs except guide dogs inside. However they are welcome in the garden as long as they do not leave us any little presents.
